Just when you thought Michael Jackson had been fully expolited … think again. Less than six months after his death a movie is slated for release in theaters. The movie will feature footage from the rehearsals shortly before his deaht for his planned London concert run, “This is It.” Sony Pictures reportedly spent $60 million to aquire the rights to the footage. There are allegedly over 80 hours worth of footage from the concert rehearsals.
Is this weird to anyone else? Michael Jackson, who was exploited throughout his life, is at the center of yet another commerical attempt to make money off his name. Sure, we’ll get to see footage of him performing again, but it is too soon. Can’t Hollywood just let him rest in peace? Of course not … there is money to be made.
The movie is due to be released October 28th of this year … And I’m sure it’ll be a runaway success.
