Oprah is in the news again today. She is the queen of the media – is she not? Chris Brown fired a remark at Oprah in an interview with People magazine slamming her for doing a show about his altercation with Rhianna earlier this year. Oprah, who is a staunch defender of abuse victims, was quick to respond to the issue of domestic abuse after the public incident between Brown and Rhianna. Here are the statements from both sides. Chris Brown most likely made a poor choice of words in his interview with People magazine, but there is no excuse. Oprah pretty much owned him. We’ll let you decide. Don’t mess with the queen of the media.
Chris Brown: “I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘OK, I’m going to help both of these people out.’ “
Oprah Winfrey representative: “Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs.”
