Michael Jackson is finally scheduled to be buried tonight – more than two months after his death. Granted there were various investigations and an autopsy to perform, but two months is a bit long to wait in our opinion. The funeral will be a private ceremony and will be barred to the public and media. The ceremony will cost the city an estimated $150,000. This is far less than the $1.4 million dollars spent on his public memorial service.
Not that it is much of a surprise, but there has been controversy over the final resting spot of Jackson. Some wanted to see him buried at his Neverland Ranch Estate, but neighbors protested to the idea citing that his grave would draw never-ending lines of tourists. Jackson reportedly vowed to never return to the ranch after the raid of the ranch after he was charged with child molestation in 2005. Instead Jackson will be buried at the Great Mausoleum on the grounds of Forest Lawn in South California among other notable Hollywood Stars.
It looks like the drama around Jackson’s death is finally starting to settle.
