The very popular Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy is not over. Work on the production of the fourth movie is already underway starring the Johnny Depp as the famous Captain Jack Sparrow once again.
Geoffrey Rush will also continue to play Barbossa. However, Keira Knightley, Jack Davenport, Bill Nighy and Orlando Bloom will not return. Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane will instead be cast in the upcoming movie.
The last Pirates of the Caribbean movie, At World’s End, cost nearly $300 million to produce. Disney ordered a budget cut of at least $100 million on this upcoming movie. The cuts have cause the 142 film shooting days to be cut down to 100 and screenwriters to write more land-based scenes than the previous movies. The number of effects shots has also been decreased.
Fans are concerned about how these budget cuts will affect the quality of the movie. However, there is still a lot of money going into this production.
